This tutorial goes over setting up Burp Suite Proxy for HTTP and HTTPS.

On Kali Linux, click the Burp Suite Icon.

Click Next.

Click Start Burp.

Once loaded, click on the Proxy tab then click the Options tab.

Under the port information, notice the port used. You can change the defaults if you’d like but just remember it.

Click Import / export CA certficate.

Under Export, select Certificate in DER format.

Click Next.

Enter a file path to export it to.

Click Next.

Launch Firefox.

In a new tab browse to about:preferences.

On the left click Search and search proxy.

Under Network Proxy click Settings…

Select Manual proxy configuration.

Enter localhost or 127.0.0.1 for HTTP Proxy.

Check off Use this proxy server for all protocols.

Clear out No proxy for.

Click OK.

In the Search again search for certificates, or cert.

Click View Certificates.

Click Authorities tab.

Click Import.

Select the exported certificate created.

Check Trust this CA to identify websites.

Click OK.

It will be listed as Port Swigger authority.

Click OK.

Open a new tab and navigate to: http://127.0.0.1:8080.

You should be prompted with the Burp Suite splash page.
